Payroll that reconciles to your books, every month

Your team should be paid accurately and on time, and the numbers should agree with your books. For many growing brands, only the first half is true.

The problem a generic accountant misses

Payroll software runs pay. It does not make sure the result lands correctly in your accounts. Wages, employer taxes, benefits and reimbursements often arrive as a single withdrawal, booked to one line, and nobody checks it against the payroll register.

For a gear brand, the question also matters for margin. Warehouse and production staff can form part of the cost of getting product to sale, while marketing and design staff do not. When all payroll sits in one expense account, your cost of goods and your operating expenses are both wrong. Add a mix of employees and contractors, people in different states, and 1099s that surface in January, and payroll becomes a steady source of errors.

What we do

We run payroll on your schedule through your payroll platform, or help you choose one if you are starting out. Employees and contractors are paid on time. Payroll taxes are calculated, paid and filed. State registrations are kept current as you hire in new locations.

Every pay run is reconciled to your books. Wages, taxes, benefits and reimbursements are recorded in the right accounts and allocated to the right departments, so your P&L shows what your team really costs and where. At year end, W-2s and 1099s are prepared and filed without a last-minute search for contractor details.

Because payroll is handled by the same team that closes your books, questions are answered in one place. When a founder asks what the warehouse team really costs per unit shipped, or what a new hire will do to next quarter's cash, the answer is already in the numbers.
